Jakarta, Kisaient.com – The journey of W-TOON Camp Around Indonesia 2024 came to an exciting conclusion with its final stops in Surabaya and Bali, marking a fitting end to this year’s initiative to cultivate webtoon talents nationwide. This time, Kisai Entertainment introduced a significant update to the program. Instead of being taught by the Art Director like in previous editions, the classes in Surabaya and Bali were led by Kisai’s mentors. These mentors are professionals who train Kisai artists to consistently meet the company’s high-quality standards. For the W-TOON Camp, they stepped in to guide participants directly, bringing valuable, real-world expertise to the sessions.

Surabaya: Mastering Line Art for Webtoons

On Saturday, November 2, 2024, the Surabaya session covered the Fundamentals of Lineart for Webtoons, hosted at VISMA Coffee, Art & Co-Working Space. Led by Ardy, Kisai’s line art mentor, participants learned everything they needed to know to create stunning line art for webtoons. From selecting the right brushes and assets to practicing efficient workflows, the session ensured attendees were equipped with practical tools and insights. A hands-on exercise helped participants refine their skills, giving them a taste of what it takes to excel as a line artist in the webtoon industry.

Bali: Perfecting Webtoon Finishing

The Bali edition, held on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at favehotel Sunset Seminyak, offered a deep dive into the Fundamentals of Finishing for Basic Webtoons. Mentored by Astrid and Aina, Kisai’s colorist mentors, the session explored techniques for creating polished panels. The participants discovered how to use colors and assets to set the mood and atmosphere in their webtoons, whether for normal panels or environments. The workshop’s exercise session emphasized adding ambiance and decorative elements to create emotionally compelling panels, a crucial finishing touch for webtoons.
