Since its establishment in 2017, Kisai Entertainment has collaborated with artists from various regions, ranging from those residing in the Jabodetabek area to others on Java Island, and even those in different countries like the Philippines and Malaysia.
After getting to know each other and working remotely, especially in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, Kisai finally organized its first offline artist meetup. The event kicked off with artists from the Jabodetabek area on September 9, 2023. Subsequently, the meetup was extended over the last weekend with the creators in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The Malaysian meetup took place at Pavilion KL, Kuala Lumpur. Project managers, art editors, and artists gathered for lunch and dessert, taking this exceptional opportunity to get to know each other better. It was a remarkable occasion as the team, comprising members from neighboring countries, finally met in person after collaborating for approximately one and a half years.
The Yogyakarta meetup began with the head of production and project manager visiting an artist in the Borobudur area after having breakfast at Lempuyangan Station, as the artist couldn’t join the main meetup. After the visit, they returned to Yogyakarta and briefly stopped at Tempo Gelato, a popular spot, to take a breather. Following that, they headed to Via-Via restaurant to meet with freelance writers and editors residing in the city. The meetup was lively and festive, with participants almost losing track of time as the sun began to set. The meetup was eventually concluded, and it was time for the in-house team to return to Jakarta.
This was a memorable moment for all parties involved, as team members were finally able to meet in person after a long period of remote collaboration. This meetup is just the beginning of more in-person events that will surely be held again henceforward to strengthen the good relationships and bodes well for the future between Kisai and the artists.
