Kisai Entertainment has been collaborating with around 200 artists and writers from all around Indonesia, and also South East Asia in 6 years since it was established in 2017. To keep up with the production demand and also respect artists’ convenience at work, most of Kisai Entertainment’s artists are working remotely in their own chosen workspace. But to ensure and maintain a healthy and good relationship with them, Kisai Entertainment is doing a lot of social events, and one of them was done last Saturday, the first offline artists and writers meetup!
The event took place at a local Indonesian restaurant in Central Jakarta where around 30 artists and writers from all around Jabodetabek (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi) gathered and got to know each other with Kisai’s founder, project managers, and also their art editors. Even though we’ve been working together with some of these artists for 2 or more years, most of us have only met them through online virtual meetings due to them working remotely and COVID social restrictions in the past.
This offline meeting starts with Tessa YP, Kisai’s founder and CEO addressing and expressing her gratitude and excitement for finally holding this event. She is delighted to be able to see face-to-face with Kisai’s artist who has been collaborating with us for a long time! What came after was all participants took turns introducing themselves by saying their name, job title, and also the Webtoon title which they are working on. The room was filled with excitement and surprise as other artists and editors finally saw their artist’s faces for the first time!
Social events such as this will surely be held again in the future, aligned with Kisai’s vision to be a haven for Webtoon artists in Southeast Asia who wish to make Webtoon production their full-time job and also opening more opportunities for other communities to collaborate with Kisai for future projects.
