Maya, an aspiring hunter, has been investigating local monster activity when she meets Apple, the new kid who she rescues from a feral aswang. The increasing hositilty of these aswang forces her to ask for the help of Tala, a slightly ditzy girl with a mysterious pet and an interest in researching cryptids.

The three high schoolers work together to uncover the mysteries of the occult and develop friendships along the way.
