Humanity is on the brink of extinction, its existence shattered by the emergence of the Heillouss—an unstoppable force that brought ruin to the world. With no way to confront this powerful enemy, the last remnants of humanity devise a desperate plan: to manipulate time itself. Their goal is to send individuals back to the past, to alternate timelines, to find Therivis—the one responsible for the Heillouss’ rise—and bring him to the present. Therivis alone possesses the knowledge to end the Heillouss, and humanity’s survival depends on his capture.
Hanzo, the last remaining member of what used to be the most powerful clan, the Sakura Clan, is a determined operative, and is among those few chosen for this critical mission. However, his mission takes a disastrous turn—he is mysteriously killed shortly after arriving in his assigned timeline.
His lifeless body drifts into a cursed river, a river infested by a Shade. Shades are ghostly entities that moves and marks specific territories, preying on the souls of the dead. Once a human dies inside the radius of it’s territory, the soul enters their domain, it is trapped and forced into combat. Victory grants a second life, being able to recover whatever damage inflicted on you upon death. but defeat means eternal consumption, your soul will be consumed by the shade and leaves you with no chance of entering the afterlife.
Hanzo’s soul is now ensnared in the Shade’s domain, where he must fight for survival. If he fails, his existence will be wiped away, and humanity will lose one of its few remaining hopes. If he succeeds, he gets to resume his original mission, to capture and take Therivis to their own timeline.
The questions remained…
Who orchestrated his murder, and why?
Was his death an accident, or are there forces working to sabotage humanity’s last hope?
Can Therivis truly stop the Heillouss, or does the key to their defeat lie elsewhere?
